… the most popular single malt in the world…
Scotland, the wild and smooth area known as the spiritual realm of whiskey, awaits us once more! The birthplace of whiskey and I absolutely love a good scotch because it has those beautiful peat and wood flavours that are smooth at the same time. Still, it is not just peat and oak, in order to fully appreciate the complexity that scotch has to offer, we must respect and take our time with it. Tasting a scotch peat whisky is more difficult than you might expect, it is not simple to get past its smokey texture.
This time, I was looking for something that I believe everyone can love and enjoy when drinking this whisky because it is still undoubtedly one of the world’s most popular single malts. Everyone, here’s the Glenlivet 12-year-old single malt scotch whisky! It is an excellent whisky to keep in your liqueur collection. You can always be certain that the guests you serve will like this single malt. If you want to add something extra to your evening, this is the most comfortable option. So sit back, get yourself a neat one, and let us get started on this Glen!
When the whisky was released into the glass, I noticed it was a warm gold colour. It had that fantastic beauty about it, such an elegant colour. With the nose, I could initially detect the spicy nutmeg that might have come from the oak cask, yet the spicy is not overpowering and fades after a few moments. I began to smell cigar smoke and dark chocolate. I discovered honey and grapefruit before taking a sip of the whisky. The fruity aromas were hidden from me, but I was able to find them. This is great because all of the scents I detected indicate that this whiskey is made from malted barley. I got upset since I did not receive any of the lovely and fresh fruits that the malted barley should have provided.

The mouth was so silky that it felt almost like being softly brushed with a giant peacock feather around my tongue. I can see why this 12-year-old Glenlivet is noted for its pillow-like softness. The texture is oily, and after letting it flow down my throat, I tasted a medium spicy flavour followed by a dry mango flavour.
The aftertaste was dry, and then you could sense almonds and wood in the atmosphere. The finish was medium in length, roughly 5 minutes, with some fruity notes coming through before the finish. Overall, this whiskey provided a satisfying finish. The ideal option to impress your friends who do not know much about whiskey and you do not want to plunge them right into the deep end and ruin their evening with your decision.

I still have dinner on the way, we are not through already. I had my vegetables on the grill with some paprika seasoning and in a tin foil bowl that I created for them to hold the juices in the entire time, I was collecting my tasting notes on this fantastic whiskey. My co-main star was also the rabbit, which had been marinated for 24 hours and was now on the grill. The rabbit was marinated in a sweet and spicy sauce with fresh herbs. The meat was also placed in a tin foil bowl to retain all of its moisture. The end result was flawless, and everything was perfectly seasoned. The meat was delicious, and the vegetables were wonderful, but how did my dinner fare with the whisky? Let me mention that “Glen” discovered that my dinner was an ideal addition to it. The sweet and spicy combination went so perfectly with the whiskey’s flavour. I could feel how the texture and flavour enriched my entire experience. The aftertaste was even better, with no off-putting scents emerging. I completed my dinner and drank my whisky. The entire experience was excellent, a terrific night that I would not change for the world. When I finished cleaning up, I felt relieved that I had discovered something that is so wonderful in my life that filled me with so much positive energy and excitement. What makes this even more amazing is that I will be able to share my experience with you all. Everything about this blog, my new social media platforms, and the wisdom that comes with it – this is right for me, and I am happy in this environment.
Next time, I shall have a spirit from a country with which I have not had much significant experience. So I am excited to get started with my next tasting. If you want to witness what goes on behind the scenes, follow me on Twitter and you will see everything I do before I start tasting. Bye! I will see you soon!
